Six weeks before its release on Secretly Canadian, we hosted the exclusive premiere of Baby Rose’s much-anticipated sophomore album, Through and Through. The Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and producer evoked legends Nina and Janis with her deep, soulful voice on instant classics like Go, I Won’t Tell, and Stop The Bleeding. She was accompanied by guitarist John Scherer, keyboardist Rhett Huffman, bassist Craig Shephard, and drummer Jordan Hemby, breathing a raw immediacy to complement the album’s careful construction.

Rose narrated throughout the performance, sharing her creative process behind the album born after her seminal projects From Dusk Til Dawn and To Myself, which earned co-signs from SZA, J. Cole, James Blake, and Kehlani. As a nod, she gave us one highlight from that period: All To Myself. Through and Through went on to debut #1 on iTunes in R&B/Soul and break the Billboard Top 50 in R&B.
